Freshly harvested raw turmeric roots are gently peeled, sliced, and naturally sun-cured to retain their earthy aroma. These are then blended with a vibrant mix of spices — red chili powder, turmeric, coarsely ground mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, fennel, coriander, and nigella seeds — along with a hint of asafoetida for that distinctive depth. Saindhav salt is added to balance the flavors and preserve the pickle naturally.
Finally, the ingredients are immersed in wooden-pressed groundnut oil, ensuring the flavors mature beautifully over time. Prepared in small batches, this pickle is a celebration of traditional homemade craftsmanship and the collective spirit of Satara's women, bringing you heritage in every bite.
